The wheel drop system is used to remove and/or replace wheelsets in workshops with pit tracks and elevated tracks.
The lifting system features telescopic lifting cylinders or a scissor lifting arrangement. The wheelset drop is powered and can be moved along a crossing track or parallel to the elevated track.

Each rail has movable rail bridges to permit the unrestricted lowering of a wheelset.

The vehicle body is held by body support while a wheelset is removed and lowered into the work pit.

When the wheelet drop is not used, the work pit can be passed over via the locked rail bridges.

Control inputs are effected via control keys at the switch cabinet or via a remote radio control unit.

Variants with normal floor undercarriage can also be provided.
