WINDHOFF MPV® VentuS®: The GAF in Service with DB InfraGO

Keeping today's rail networks in good working order calls for vehicles that are flexible, capable and environmentally sound. The MPV® VentuS® is WINDHOFF's modular maintenance vehicle, built for demanding construction, servicing and maintenance work.

In the Bremen network district, it has proved its worth in day-to-day operations with DB InfraGO. The Bremen team's territory stretches from the Hamburg border to the Dutch border and covers maintenance work on track, points and overhead line equipment.

Modular by Design, Future-proof by Nature

The MPV® VentuS® is built around a modular system, which makes it possible to configure vehicles precisely to requirement — with proven technology, and even in small batch sizes. Alongside the drivetrain integrated into the underframe, working equipment such as cranes and access platforms, along with cabs and frame modules, all follow the same carefully structured approach.

The variant in service in Bremen pairs a diesel-electric drive with a 90 kWh traction battery. On site, the vehicle runs on battery power alone, with zero emissions. It is also markedly quieter, which improves safety on the worksite and makes it far easier for the team to communicate.

For heavy lifting and installation work, a powerful Palfinger PKR 370 loader crane offers a 19.20 m outreach and handles loads of over 2.1 tonnes with ease.

About the MPV® VentuS®: a multi-purpose platform for modern railway infrastructure

The MPV® VentuS® is designed as a versatile platform. Body and equipment variants can be combined to suit specific requirements – from crane modules to solutions for materials logistics. With future-oriented propulsion concepts (battery, hydrogen, overhead line), it provides a sustainable basis for mainline railways and demanding networks.
